Costume College Prep
Jul. 31st, 2010 11:22 pmPrep work for the classes I'm teaching at Costume College has revealed that there is apparently no copy shop anywhere near Greenwood. The only place we found was Staples... which had one B&W printer out of order, the other out of toner, and the girl behind the counter busy with other things.
*makes strangle-y hands*
So photocopying handouts and doing image manipulation of the 1939 pattern I'm using for the embroidery class will have to wait until Monday, when I can hit the copy shop I know and love down in Fountain Valley. (Then I get to use the patio door as a light box and trace the pattern four times onto fabric; only three embroidery students this year, ah well.)
Under what I do have done... for the embroidery class, I cut out and embroidered the felt needle cases, filled them, and have them together in gallon ziploc bags with the hoops and a good selection of thread. For the steel boning class, I have the handout done. So for one I need to cut the cloth and trace the designs; for both I need to copy the handouts; and for the other I need to gather my samples and tools together. For the limited classes I'm taking, I need to decide on and wash my fabric, gather thread and tools as listed on the registration sheets. Ideally, I'd also go through my fabric shelves and winnow some out to donate to the scholarship thingie, but we'll see how well things go.
