This year seemed oddly low-key, though that might have been due to our shift hours (we worked days and the stressful stuff tends to crop up at night) and our getting enough sleep. Also, being on the sixth floor of the Mariott rocks. We took the elevators twice all weekend: (1) getting to the room upon arrival, and (2) after the Black and White Ball and subsequently spending some time over in the Hilton with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
hoshikage and Co. I even dragged the luggage down the stairs on checkout day, when an elevator ride was not to be had for love or money. It was extremely doable.
Eight batches of cookies seems to be about the right amount to pack, as they almost all got devoured before we left, and that was with ConOps a body or two short-staffed. As always, we didn't get to see much of the con, but we got to hang out or at least meet up with lots of cool people, and I went through the Artists' Alley and spent some money there. We also went to the Black and White Ball for the first time, which was cool. The hotel staff needed to be prompter in refilling the water dispensers, the dance floor was too crowded to really allow proper waltz or tango (and very few of the dancers knew about line of dance), but seeing a third of the floor doing the Thriller dance? And then, later, the entire floor doing the Macarena? Near priceless. We left after an intense East Coast Swing to Jonathan Coulton's "Code Monkey." Because, really, you can't get your geek on more than that. ^_^
Finished one book while there, am about three-quarters of the way through another. Also finished all the embroidery on the set of eight linen napkins I'm making and have hemmed about one and a half of them. So, productivity of a different sort as well. And now I go to do homework that's due tomorrow night.
