Thing about having a household of two is that frequently either you scale back recipes, invite people over to dinner, or end up with a ton of leftovers. All of these options have their own charm points. What this means relative to this week's menu planning is that having had tacos, for which we use half a pound of ground/minced beef for the two of us, this weekend, there was another half a pound of minced beef sitting in the fridge, staring at me. Metaphorically.

So I looked up recipes and consulted my mental list of ingredients-on-hand and we had spaghetti bolognese. And it was yummy. And did you know that spaghetti grows on trees? Wikipedia is awesome. ^_^

I also potted up the second bay tree and the four Yellow Pear tomatoes, thus finishing off the weekend's gardening tasks. Which included making potato cages out of the roll of rusty 3' high wire that used to be attached the the top of our cinderblock fence when we moved in here. The process of making the cages involved the phrase "Does that look like a black widow spider to you?" The consensus answer to said question was that despite the spider in question happily dangling in midair in the sunlight and having significantly longer legs than I associate with widows, probably yes. Wonderful Husband promptly whipped out his cellphone to take pictures, then prudently killed the spider for me.
