Oog.

So yesterday (today by my internal clock as I haven't gone to bed yet, but yesterday by the physical clock) was Wonderful Husband's birthday and we went to Disneyland on the basis that it being his birthday, his ticket was free so we only had to pay for mine and therefore effectively got in at half price. So now we are quite Kingdom'ed out and our feet hurt but we had rather a good time and finally actually got to see the fireworks show which we can distantly catch from our house. It wasn't as brilliant as could be hoped (in anything other than the actual "bright lights against a dark sky" sense of "brilliant"), but I rather liked the touch of having a Dumbo as well as a Tinkerbell flying over the castle on wires during appropriate parts. There were also a couple new touches on Fantasmic, which was, as always, good. Unfortunately both Space Mountain and the Haunted Mansion were closed for holiday refitting for about another six days. :( Oh, and the scenery along the tram route from the parking lot to park has seasonal decorations now! We agreed that the Mickey and Minnie ghosts on either side of a skeleton-suited Goofy were kind of creepy. What I'd like to see is the Mickey and Minnie ghosts being translucent and Goofy being an actual skeleton, but this is Disney and that creepy they won't go. ^_^ Wonderful Husband built himself a lightsaber for his birthday and we got 96 packets in 12 different flavors of Alice in Wonderland themed tea, but that was the extent of our shopping. Some of the tea/character matches make sense (Dormouse and chamomile, for instance, or the flowers and jasmine), but some of them are head-scratching. (Cheshire Cat matches with chai, for those of inquiring minds.)

Have ended up dropping the ball on Blind Go. Alas. :(

ETA: We also accomplished the nigh-impossible and found real food at Disneyland... Big Thunder Ranch has a nice BBQ.
