Situational Irony?

So on Saturday morning when Wonderful Husband spent inordinate amounts of time on the phone with the Internet people? They said they'd send us a new modem. Overnight shipping. "It'll be there by Tuesday at the very latest."

Tuesday has come and gone....

The Internets have returned!

In celebration I have fought my way through to the finish of chapter 9 of Harder Better Faster Stronger. I intend to let it sit for a few days, fact-check some tidbits against previous chapters, and probably release it into the wilds of the internet this weekend.

Some Days You Just Can't Win

"It must be a Wednesday... I never could get the hang of Wednesdays"?

I got bad news, I guess, on two fronts today, neither of which I can really do anything about, which is frustrating. It sucks when you want to fix something... just have no way to.

One of my mantras (the one which some days helps me get through work) is that "people are stupid, no matter what." I think I should amend it or add an addendum to the effect that it doesn't pay to be nice/civilized because whether though malice or thoughtlessness people will not return the favor.

Or maybe I'm just tired and emotionally strung out and tired of hurting/being hurt.
