hoshikage, sandpanther and myself since nearly the beginning of obsessions... why are the GUYS Japan uniforms mustard yellow? Tonight, I rewatched 29 and 30 and toward the end of 30, just before Ryuu begins his plea to Tarou, I found the answer.
They match Moebius.
Moebius is red and silver with touches of gold, right? The GUYS uniform is gold and gray (silver) with touches of red.
*facepalm* I can't believe it took me this long to realize it was a deliberate choice by the costume designer and not just throwing random darts at the color wheel. And I also stand in awe of how subtle that bit of planning was, because it speaks well for the cohesion of the series as a whole and its absolute overall awesomeness.
