Reading material!

I am being sucked into a book. I've been eyeing There Will Be Dragons by John Ringo (along with its, at this count, three sequels) on the bookstore shelves for a couple of years now and finally broke down and bought it the other day when I noticed there was a $3.99 paperback edition staring at me. I mean, when was the last time you could get a brand new paperback for four bucks? Let alone one that's 746 pages long? And if it's not quite tailor-made for me, it's pushing enough of my fantasy/sci-fi/recreationist hot buttons that I'm not really noticing. As in, being caught up at work, I pulled the book from my backpack around three. I looked up a bit later and noticed it was ten until five. Which, aside from the freakiness of the phone not ringing for nearly two hours, proved that I like this book. A whole hour and fifty minutes of my life disappeared into its gaping maw and I did not notice.
