It's all in your point of view

Just read a headline: "Dueling Demonstrators Descend on Texas." My first thought was that it was going to be about a gathering of swordsmen or marksmen doing a mass public demonstrations. I was very disappointed when it turned out to be about anti-war demonstrations. Not, mind you, that I like the war we're in or think it's for the right reasons, but that's my private opinion and personal politics, which I try to keep out of my friends' lives. But demonstrations of something resembling chivalry and personal responsibility... ahh, that appeals to me.

Stuff. Things.

Wonderful Husband will be arriving in about nine hours. He's been in Toronto this weekend attending a friend's wedding, and I have missed him. So I should shower and sleep and turn the fan on. Probably not in that order.

Tonight we had a small family party (my mother and myself, my aunt and uncle and their two children) to celebrate my forthcoming birthday. They gave me the last two discs of Last Exile! Yay, I can finish watching the series now!

Somewhat related to the above, I will be reprising Sophia at the PMX Masquerade next weekend. This is because my wig still has not arrived from witchwigs.com. I ordered it on the tenth. It is (now) the twenty-seventh. I am most miffed and shall be contacting them. Because even if the wig magically arrives on Monday, I don't believe I'll be able to get it styled in time. *sigh* So Edel will appear most likely at Anime LA in January.

Yesterday I hit my hand on my desk and this resulted in my right index finger bruising under the first knuckle and swelling up quite nastily. It's still a bit swollen and I can't bend it all the way, but it's stopped hurting and gone down, which is good. I don't *like* not being able to use a pencil. This is the same finger that got scratched by a feral kitty earlier a few weeks ago, so obviously August is not a good month for this finger.
