Akira did not mind being caught by someone reading socially unacceptable books.
Except when it was someone who mattered.
So it was that when he glanced up from his seat on the train while reading the newest Harry Potter novel and saw Shindou Hikaru looking at him, his first reaction was to freeze and his second was to stuff the book in his bag.
Grinning widely, Shindou made his way over to Akira and, standing in front of him, asked "So, how do you like the new book?"
"Shut up, Shindou," Akira muttered, looking away.
"Have you gotten to the part in chapter seven yet, where--"
"Don't tell me!" Akira shouted. Then he blinked. Wait. "You've read it?"
"The day it came out," Shindou confirmed. "When you finish it, shall we compare notes?"
--a spur-of-the-moment scenelet, by me, who has still not read the aforementioned book.
