Working on mockup for TGL costume... my brain is trying to convince me that if the muslin mockup works, in addition to using it as pattern pieces, I could also use it as a lining for TGL #2 and make that out of the white butterfly linen mix I have. After all, the brain reasons, I'm not going to need all four yards of it for that Nene Thomas costume....

Right. Muslin #1 for TGL: failed. Am taking out the darts and trying again. For some reason my body type does not like darts--for the bridesmaid dresses for hoshikage's wedding, I left them out completely by accident and my bodice fit perfectly. Everyone else's, though, needed darts.

(Given that the TGL fabric is plaid/tartan, however, and an asymmetrical striping, this elimination of darts actually pleases me.)

Okay, sans darts the bodice almost fits. I need to adjust it a bit more in the chest area and make it about 2" longer. And angle out the skirt more. And I haven't even gotten to the sleeves yet.

I really hate it when projects don't work. Especially when i've just realized I'm on a deadline and work takes up 90% of my time and energy.
