Feb. 10th, 2005 09:31 pmOne of the many reasons my husband is wonderful: when part of a project is stymieing me, he knows to tell me to work on another part.
Three more skirts done, but tomorrow night is either going to be cutting more skirts or sewing a part of these dresses that proves to be impossible (too many thicknesses of fabric) by machine.
I won a lot of back issues of Threads magazine on eBay and spent a while going through them... Threads used to be much more of a "sewing and knitting" magazine than just the sewing magazine it is now. As someone who has not yet learned to knit, though I will someday--it's inevitable--the knitting articles were of little use, but some of them! Oh, the couture technique articles, the articles on temari and thread buttons and heirloom sewing... well worth the cost. I've already found ideas for how to make some things that've I've been pondering.
Got a card from Kinokuniya today... I've never before had them unable to fill a special order because the books in question (Rozen Maiden 2 and 4) are out of stock *in Japan*....
