Dec. 21st, 2004 10:18 pmToday at work I got to take ashes out of one box and put them in another box, then put that box inside a third box... it'd be gruntwork except for how important it is to double check EVERYTHING. I actually think I'll like this job and be very good at it. Learning how to use an electronic typewriter somehow feels like an evolutionary step backwards, though. Still, I've decided to view with tolerant amusement the painstaking baby steps the woman I'm replacing is taking in training me. I know something like 70-80% of the human race are slower than I am at learning things. I don't quite have to be told something only once, but at least she's twigging onto the fact that guiding me through something with corrections is a better way to teach me the job than having me watch her. I'm hands-on learning all the way, baby.
(I know the gods are laughing at me... I went from a business owned by Bucky to a business owned by Buck. I went from working with Mary Brunk to working with Merry Strunk. Coincidence? You judge.)
