I dreamt last night of Japan.

Of course, I also dreamt that I had to evacuate and that I had four little-kitten versions of my cat.

Stupid Morpheus. *punts*

On my days off work, I tend to become domestic (more so than usual) because I know I won't have a "OMG time to get into work clothes and leave!" deadline hit me while I'm in the middle of something. So today has been house- and patio-work. Wonderful Husband and I set up the bedframe in the renovated bonus room so soon it may become an actual guest room. I need to do a lot more cleaning in there first, though. The upstairs bathroom is now much closer to sparkling (to be honest, it wasn't horrible to begin with, but I'm one of those people who sees dust on the windowsill and water splashes on the mirrors and the downstairs we mostly don't use so it's still fine. And I have cleaned what was probably thirty years of hand-grime off the banister. Ick ick ick. So, nasty tasks completed, I've been working in my garden, applying fertilizers, harvesting lots of peppers (apparently snails will eat jalepeno peppers, BTW) and a couple of tomatoes, working some more on the badly overgrown rosebushes, and planting calendula seeds in my one empty pot. I want so badly to buy some plants to fill in all the space left from those weeds I ripped out last week....

Yesterday at work our piped music was tuned to something vaugely classical or at least instrumental. It was a nice change from the pseudo-country western that's usually playing. I recognized one particular piece, but it took me a few minutes to figure out where I knew it from--The Princess Bride. I wonder if this is true for most people today, that we only know classical pieces because they're included in movie soundtracks?

Have cleaned fan blades (ick ick ick again) and sorted the floor-to-ceiling linen closet. Have also sorted out all the sheets (two different bed sizes plus one twin flat sheet... we haven't had any twin beds in well over a decade!) into sets and tied them up neatly with ribbons. Everything not in a set is getting put in a happy black trashbag to drop off at the Goodwill tomorrow....
