The flower girl dress is done except for the hem, which is, after all, the purpose of the fitting. In celebration of a sort, I'm fray-checking the short edges of the ruffled black strips. Given how this fabric feels about hems, it's an easier, better solution than sewing them closed.

Well, except for hand-sewing on some ribbon flowers (as requested by the flower girl herself), the flower girl's dress is finished, pics to go up some time tomorrow. Likewise, I've sewn together as much of the black crinoline as I have--must buy or find more fabric for the last tier. Ran out another spool of thread, which somehow always gives me a sense of accomplishment. Went to the fabric store and bought a few yards of duck cloth, with which I intend to make a couple of corsets, both costume and otherwise, because I've discovered that I am actually more comfortable in a well-fitted corset than I am in a bra. The perils of being large-chested? Or, as I told Wonderful Husband earlier this evening (while talking about the immense amount of hidden labor that goes into something as simple as dinner or a shirt), I was probably born in the wrong era. Not that I'm switching back, mind you!

Off to watch more Kaleido Star and more Tweeny Witches.
