May. 16th, 2004 07:02 pmWent to work. Got off work. Came home and sewed for a little bit, then went to storage and pulled out the rest of my costumes and, at random, one of my many boxes of fabric.
Unpacking the fabric was like meeting old friends you haven't seen for a long time. There's the shimmery green fabric destined to become a long dress, and a couple of linen/cotton blends for shorter dresses. There's the fabric for a renfaire bodice (and, hey, there's the hat that it was purchased to match!) and fabric for chemises. There's the sushi fabric and the samurai woodblock fabric, the former of which I have no clue what I want to do with, but possibly a frilly apron? and the latter of which will become a shirt for my husband. Aha, the bamboo print corderoy! There's shiny and shimmery and soft and drapey and matte and I know them all.
Unpacking the costumes was a similar experience. Look, here are wigs you'd forgotten you had! And Ovelia's cloak and here's Miaka and lookit, Flowery! And Sumomo, the object of this expedition. Unfortunately, when I pulled out all the pieces for Sumomo, including the curliques to be sewn on her scarf, I discovered that though I'd cut four curliques, one has become separated from the rest. I also don't have access to this particular fabric anymore. I know that I still have it--when I was packing everything up into boxes, I found it and deliberately kept it to be reunited with the rest. Problem is its current location. So I guess I sew the other three on and hope I find the fourth soon.
