Ha. Chapter six of "Queen's Choice" finished and sent out, though I think I will need to rework Kanna in the end scene a bit. She seemed a little... off. The end of the end scene, period, seemed a little off. Well, perhaps sleep will give me some perspective on it. ^^

Going to be getting slightly more hours at work through the holiday season as I get cross-trained for banquet reservations. They need someone to make sure the restaurant doesn't overfill for holidays. That someone is (yay) me.

Went to book signing tonight! I've been reading Tamora Pierce's books for as far back as I can remember. I have a first print of her first book, in fact, and checked the flap of it tonight, and it's *twenty* years old. Because her works have been so constant a presence in my life and I really wanted to give her something as a kind of thank-you, I made a red-and-cream silk pouch (that much less fabric in my stash) and put four different flavors of Droste chocolate inside, as well as a red origami crane. One never truly forgets, it seems, how to make a crane. Because I couldn't find my instruction sheet so I winged it and it turned out right on the first try. And I think she liked getting something because she personalized all three of the books I brought, when we'd been told she would only personalize two. And she gave me some assuring advice about smoothing things out in rewrites. And she liked my vest! Which I made myself. So, very happy-making evening.

That said, I still can't find Kitten in the naming ceremony scene even though she said she was there....
