Oven preheating for a pair of nectarine-and-blueberry pies. ^^

Half of the rim crust on one pie fell over, so that one doesn't look as nice. Taking the other over to my parents' for dinner. Put some bread in the oven to rise while I'm over there. Need to remember to get some more white flour tomorrow--am all out now.

Pies turned out well. "Not too sweet," as my mother, who dislikes things that are too sweet, put it.

Recipe for filling: 3 cups nectarines (skinned and sliced 1/4" thick), 2 cups blueberries, 3/4 cup sugar, 3.5 tablespoons cornstarch, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1/8 teaspoon salt. Mix and let sit for ~15 minutes while preheating oven to 425 degrees. Pour into pie crust, dot with 2-3 tablespoons butter in small chunks, put top crust on, cut steam vents, put in oven above a baking sheet for 30 minutes, lower temperature to 350 degrees, bake for 25-35 minutes, until filling is bubbling. Remove, let cool, enjoy.
