*g* it is a very canon feel, for Hikaru to think manga - you're right about the Shonen Jump thing. I think Akira probably WOULD know about vampires, but not the details of them.

Avoiding info dumps is good. However, are you using "traditional" vampiric lore, or are you "tailoring" it?
