In Which The Blonde Fails To Look Before Leaping

Went to a few estate sales this morning. Among my purchases was a 1959 Parcheesi set. Having had fantastic luck with estate sale board games in the past, I blithely neglected to check that it had all the pieces. It turns out to be missing 1 dice cup, 6 dice, and 7 tokens spread across all the colors. Ah well; what do you want for a dollar? Fortunately I can get replacements for all these pieces on eBay, or look for them at future estate sales/thrift stores, or just wait until next year's SDCC.

Part of the fun of estate sales for me is that I get to wander through other people's houses, admire or be horrified by their stuff, and generally entertain myself, occasionally coming away with a few things I like. For less than $20, I had myself a damn fine Saturday morning.

(Other acquisitions: 2 novels, 1 vase frog, 1 Pyrex measuring cup, 5 vintage cards, 1 vintage carrying case, 13 ornaments, 3 tea towels, 6 linen napkins, 10 garden pots, a pair of tin snips, and a Schiaparelli lingerie bag. Total cost: $19.29)
